“Christina's number one strength is her caring. I can feel and see how much she loves me, and loves all of us who struggle. This love is enabling; it helped me to feel like I could do this, or anything I wanted to do. Her experience adds a great deal of weight to what she says and asks us to do. I thought, okay, if Christina did this and it helped her, then maybe it will help me too. And knowing that she has experienced BFRBs for herself, knowing that she is trying to help others with similar struggles, I immediately felt a large amount of trust and respect for her.

Most of all, I learned more about myself--who I am, how I work, how I can change. I think differently about BFRBs than I did before. I think and feel more positively about myself, and more gently about my behaviors. I was already going this direction, but this class urged that forward. This gentleness and positivity and mindfulness have helped me have more peace (which to begin with was my goal). I also feel equipped to take on the hard things that are yet ahead of me, because of that gentleness and mindfulness. I know what to do now, when I am starting to become overcome with emotion or stress or whatever--I have learned incredibly valuable tools. The biggest indicator to me that I had changed was when an old friend, someone who had really loved me, passed on. There was so much emotion. And I was able to feel it, and experience the waves of grief, and accept what I was feeling. It amazed me.

And being in class with a group of people who struggle with BFRBs - I had never experienced this before, and the community that I felt was amazing.

Worth the Time & Money

“To learn the elements of a system that does work for reducing BFRB's is truly wonderul.. While I haven't put all of those elements into place in my life, I know for sure that those things we learned in class are a real pathway to reducing them. The weekly personal calls with Christina are extremely helpful. Also, in the last class, we each had a chance to provide other class members input/feedback and one doesn't get that kind of input often.
